OctoLoops helps founders find current public conversations and communities where their product may be relevant. If you are using it through ChatGPT, this page explains what to expect and how to get help.
Using OctoLoops in ChatGPT
Connect OctoLoops as a remote MCP plugin in ChatGPT, then ask for distribution opportunities for your product. For example: “Find distribution opportunities for https://example.com.”
The connection URL is https://octoloops.com/api/mcp. OctoLoops exposes one read-only tool, find_distribution_opportunities, which accepts only your product website URL.
What the tool returns
OctoLoops reads the public website to understand the product, then searches for a small set of relevant current discussions. Results include the source, discussion title, direct URL, relevance, and a short reason each conversation may fit. It does not post, send outreach, edit accounts, or make changes to third-party services.
Limits and availability
The ChatGPT integration has a shared capacity limit of 50 successful searches per UTC day. If that capacity is unavailable, OctoLoops returns a clear message and does not fetch your site, search the web, or run an AI model. Try again after the next UTC day begins.
Troubleshooting
- ChatGPT cannot connect. Check that you entered the MCP URL exactly and that your ChatGPT plan or workspace permits remote MCP plugins.
- Your website cannot be read. Use a public
https://orhttp://URL. OctoLoops will not fetch local addresses, private networks, or unsupported protocols. - You received no opportunities. The tool only returns links it can verify from current public search results. A narrow or new category may not have enough suitable conversations at that time.
- You reached capacity. This is a global limit for the experiment, not a personal allowance. Please try again tomorrow.
Privacy
To answer a request, OctoLoops processes the website URL supplied to the tool and its public page content. We retain aggregate operational records such as whether a request succeeded and how many results it returned; we do not need or store your ChatGPT conversation.
