Cogny alternatives: it reads data you may not have yet
Connected ad and analytics accounts from $9 a month, and the three things that have to be true before optimising numbers beats deciding where to show up
Quick answer: Cogny connects your ad and analytics accounts, reads the numbers in them, and recommends optimisations it can write back with your approval. It is strong at that, and it is built for products that already have spend and traffic worth optimising. OctoLoops is built for the stage before that one: paste a URL, get the full channel plan free with no account, then run loops that produce three specific actions a week. If your Search Console is mostly empty, the tool that reads it cannot help you yet.
These two products get compared because Cogny now sells a $9 tier to people who built an app with Lovable, Bolt or Cursor, which is our reader exactly. They are not the same kind of tool. One optimises marketing that is already running; the other decides what to start. Every fact below is from their public pages on 14 August 2026, and pricing moves, so check it before you buy anything.
What Cogny does
You OAuth your channels, which they estimate at two minutes, and Cogny reads them. The integration list is genuinely wide: Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, GA4, Search Console, Shopify, Klaviyo, HubSpot, WordPress and around twenty more, many with write access as well as read. An AI layer then works through a loop they describe as monitor, analyse, approve, execute, surfacing opportunities in the data and tracking the outcome against what it predicted. Nothing runs without your approval, which is the right call and worth saying.
Their example gives the flavour: it spots twelve pages with ranking potential in Search Console, proposes rewritten meta descriptions with an estimated CTR lift, and waits for you to confirm before updating them. That is a good product. It is also, quite specifically, a product that needs twelve pages already earning impressions.
Pricing is three tiers. Free gives you 15 MCP calls a month and 10 one-time chat credits. Solo is $9 a month and covers "one channel at a time". Cloud is $499 a month, and that is where the automation actually lives: all channels in parallel, scheduled jobs, daily briefs, BigQuery and a shared team workspace.
Who it is built for
Cogny AB is a Stockholm company founded by two ad-tech operators who previously built and sold a bid-optimisation platform, and the product reflects that history. Their comparison pages are aimed at Supermetrics, Improvado, Funnel.io, Looker Studio and Tableau, and their case studies are Meta Ads and Google Ads accounts. This is a performance marketing tool for people with a media budget, agencies running client accounts, and teams who currently pay for a reporting stack. If that is you, the breadth of those integrations is the whole point.
OctoLoops is built for one person with one product, no media budget, and about an hour a day. Everything below follows from that difference.
What has to be true for a data tool to pay off
Not whether $9 is cheap. It is. The question is whether the accounts it connects to contain enough signal to rank anything. Three things have to be true before an optimisation layer earns its keep:
You have traffic with a pattern in it. Search Console needs pages with impressions before it can tell you which ones are close to ranking. A few dozen visitors a month is not a dataset; it is noise with a login.
You are spending money on ads. Most of the integration list, and every one of their case studies, is paid media. Cost per acquisition cannot be cut by 56% on a budget of zero.
The bottleneck is inefficiency rather than absence. Optimisation moves a number that already exists. If the honest number is zero, there is nothing to optimise, and the work is choosing where to show up in the first place.
Most products that were shipped last month clear none of these. That is not a criticism of Cogny. It is the boundary of what any analytics-driven tool can do, and it is worth knowing which side of it you are on before you connect anything.
Where OctoLoops is different
It works at zero. We start from your URL, not your accounts. There is no OAuth step, nothing to connect, and no requirement that you already have data. The analysis reads what you sell and who buys it, then scores ten channels against it. A product with no users gets the same quality of plan as one with ten thousand, because the input is the product rather than its history.
The plan is free forever, with no account. Paste a URL and you get the channel scores, the diagnosis and the recommended first move without a card and without an email address. Once you register, your first 10 loop runs are free, and unlimited loops are $29 a month. We charge for repeated execution, not for the plan.
It tells you what not to do. Every plan names the channels to avoid for now, not just the ones to pursue. For most early products three of the ten are worth anything, and the useful half of the answer is ruling out the other seven before you spend a month on one.
The loops produce the work, not a report. The Community Loop searches the live web for threads where your buyers are describing your problem right now, verifies the links resolve, rates how likely each thread is to treat a mention as spam, and drafts a comment tailored to each one. You get three checkboxes and you post them yourself from your own account. Run it again next week and it knows what you already did. The Landing, SEO, Outbound and Founder-Led Sales loops work the same way against their own jobs.
It is deliberately narrow. Three actions at a time rather than a dashboard of opportunities, because the constraint on a solo founder is hours in the week, not ideas in the document.
The $9 question
Solo is a third of our price, and if you have a running Google Ads account it is an easy purchase. Two things are worth reading closely first. It covers one channel at a time, so the cross-channel picture their homepage sells is the $499 tier. And the parts that make it autonomous, the scheduled jobs and daily briefs, are also at $499. At $9 you are buying an analyst you have to ask.
Our $29 buys unlimited loops, and the plan that decides which loops to run costs nothing before that. The comparison that matters is not the monthly figure; it is whether the thing you are paying for can act on what you currently have.
How to decide in five minutes
Open Search Console and look at the last 28 days. If you have pages earning impressions and campaigns spending money, you have an optimisation problem, and a tool that reads those accounts is the right shape of purchase. If the chart is flat, you have a distribution problem, and no amount of connected data will fix it, because the data is the symptom.
Our plan costs nothing and needs no account, so you can answer that question and get the channel scores in the same five minutes. If you want the longer version of the diagnosis first, start with why nobody uses the app you built, and the order to fix it, then come back and run the plan.
Try it on your own app
OctoLoops reads your site, scores the ten channels worth trying, and runs a Community Loop that finds live threads and drafts a comment for each one. You post them yourself, from your own account. The plan is free and always will be, your first 10 loop runs are free, and you do not need an account to see either.
